Jack, a fairy tale character who is on the verge of failing out of fairy tale school, must either execute a heroic deed by Monday or fail terribly, just like his father did before him, in order to avoid failing out. Jack sells his C.O.W. (Computer of Wonder) in exchange for a handful of magic beans and a weird book that recounts his adventures as they occur. He is determined to make amends. Aboard the magic beanstalk, accompanied by his sidekick Grayson (a goose who ate a bean and underwent an astonishing transformation), Jack sets out to collect the famous Harp of Destiny from the terrible Giant who lives in the sky. Jack's risky voyage is aided by the lively Jillian, a fearless young girl whom he encounters along the way — and who just might have a secret agenda of her own...
