After emigrating from Morocco to the Netherlands with her parents when she was 11, Fatima Jebli Ouazzani became a journalist and television producer. In one thing, Fatima was certain: she would not allow herself to be married off like her mother and grandmother, and so she defied Moroccan tradition by moving out of her family's house. A single woman with no children faces the question of whether she made the correct decisions in this film. A traditional Moroccan marriage serves as the backdrop for her own personal past. For Naima, a Moroccan girl who was born in the Netherlands, this is the path she has chosen for herself. Naima is required to prove that she is still a virgin on her wedding night.
