Two police officers must work together to stop an international drug smuggling ring. One is an unconventional Irish cop, and the other is a straight-laced FBI agent. Sergeant Gerry Boyle is an oddball small-town cop who is rude and crude and has a twisted sense of humor. Boyle has been a police officer in County Galway for a long time. He is a rebel with his own set of rules. He has seen enough of the world and thought enough about it to know that there isn't much to it. When a fellow police officer goes missing and Boyle's small town becomes important to a large drug trafficking investigation, he has to at least act interested to deal with the humorless FBI agent Wendell Everett who is in charge of the case.
