Tom of Finland

It's hard to get back to normal life in Finland after Touko Laaksonen served his country in World War II, but it's also hard to live there now that it's not war. When he goes to Helsinki in peacetime, he sees a lot of people being punished for being gay. Men around him are even being told to marry women and have children. Art is a way for Touko to be free, and he specializes in homoerotic drawings of muscular men who aren't afraid to show off their body parts. To make his work more well-known, he used the name "Tom," which became the symbol for a generation of men and helped start a gay movement.
