Tongues Untied

With the help of other homosexual Black men, particularly poet Essex Hemphill, Marlon Riggs praises Black men loving Black men as a revolutionary act. Scenes of males engaging in social intercourse and dancing are intercut with narration from Riggs about his upbringing and a number of comedic parodies, including a visit to the "Institute of Snap!thology," where men learn different types of finger snaps (the sling snap, the point snap, and the diva snap).
