There is something horrifyingly wrong with the victims discovered in the dark city streets. Some are disfigured, while others bear the Price equation (wz = Cov (w,z) = wzVz) etched into their flesh. Detective Eddie Argo and his new partner Helen Westcott discover the meaning of the peculiar equation and realize that each victim is being presented with a horrific choice: kill your loved ones or die. Soon, it becomes evident that the perpetrator has endured a similar tragedy and is now coping by attempting to find a solution to this philosophical conundrum.
