Big Day

Big Day is an American situation comedy that was initially broadcast on ABC from November 28, 2006, all the way through January 30, 2007. The show's original title was A Day in the Life. Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa served as executive producers for the series that was directed by Michael Spiller and produced by Sony Pictures Television. CanWest's Global and CH stations were the ones in Canada to broadcast the show in its entirety. It was supposed to premiere on October 5, 2006, alongside Notes from the Underbelly; however, ABC made a last-minute change in its schedule by moving Ugly Betty to Thursday, thus replacing both sitcoms whose "buzz" was not particularly promising. Originally, it was supposed to debut alongside Notes from the Underbelly. Tuesday nights at 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. central time was when Big Day was aired. The Knights of Prosperity, another brand-new sitcom, was supposed to air in that slot, but ABC decided to prioritize Big Day and move it to Wednesdays instead. This was done so that Big Day could take over the schedule. The results of the ratings indicate that Big Day was not very successful overall. On January 30, 2007, Big Day completed its first season, although only 12 of the 13 episodes that had been produced were shown on television. The episode with the title The $10,000 Check was never shown. Following the release of the fall schedule for 2007-2008 by ABC on May 15, 2007, the network made the decision to officially cancel the show. During the years 2007 and 2008, the production of a movie based on the show was canceled not once, but twice. In the year 2010, preparations have been made to remake the film adaption, which is now in the pre-production stage.
