Everybody Hates Chris

Chris is a teenager growing up in Brooklyn, New York, as the oldest of three children in the early 1980s. Chris's strict, hard-working parents move him to a new neighborhood and send him by bus to a mostly white middle school two hours away. Chris struggles to find his place while keeping his siblings in line at home and getting through the challenges of junior high.
