Glitter

Glitter is an American drama series that aired on the ABC network in 1984 and 1985. Aaron Spelling made the show, which took place behind the scenes of a popular entertainment magazine called "Glitter." The show tried to combine the seriousness of journalism and business politics with the glitzy lives of the rich and famous that were shown in the magazine. David Birney, Morgan Brittany, and Arthur Hill were the most important actors. The format of the show was similar to that of two other popular ABC shows that Aaron Spelling also made, The Love Boat and Hotel. Each week, famous people like Ginger Rogers and Cyd Charisse made frequent guest appearances. Glitter didn't do as well in the ratings as the other shows. In September 1984, the first three episodes aired, and then the show went off the air until December 1984, when three more episodes were shown. The ratings did not get better, so the show was canceled. In December 1985, as part of ABC's late-night lineup, the last eight episodes were shown. Even though Glitter didn't do well in the US, it was sold in other countries. In the summer of 1985, BBC1 in the UK showed it.
