Jam

Chris Morris is responsible for the creation, writing, and directing of the postmodern British dark comedy series Jam, which debuted on Channel 4 in the months of March and April of the year 2000. It was a sequence of unnerving sketches that played out over the course of an ambient soundtrack and was based on the earlier show Blue Jam that had aired on BBC Radio 1. A few of the sketches made use of the original radio soundtracks, with the actors lip-syncing their lines. This was a novel approach that contributed to the unpleasant mood of the program as a whole. Amelia Bullmore, David Cann, Julia Davis, Kevin Eldon, and Mark Heap were among the members of the cast that Morris had previously collaborated with on his earlier television work, such as The Day Today and Brass Eye. Morris also made sporadic appearances throughout the series as a supporting character. Chris Morris and Peter Baynham were the authors of the script, while additional material was provided by Jane Bussmann, David Quantick, Graham Linehan, Arthur Mathews, and the performers.
