Mad About You

Mad About You was an American sitcom that aired on NBC from September 23, 1992, to May 24, 1999. In the show, Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt play a married couple in New York City. Reiser was Paul Buchman, a documentary film maker. Hunt played Jamie Stemple Buchman, a public relations expert. Near the end of the show's run, the couple had a baby girl they named Mabel. The series focuses mostly on the newlyweds as they deal with everything from funny little things to big problems. People compared the show to Seinfeld, which is also about people in their 30s in New York City and is also on NBC. Last season, Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser were paid $1 million per episode. But the show's ratings dropped sharply that year because it was moved from its Tuesday time slot to help NBC's new Monday night comedies. The last episode of the series was "The Final Frontier." The show's theme song, "Final Frontier," was written by Reiser and Don Was. The theme song was first sung by Andrew Gold, but Anita Baker's version made its debut in the middle of the 1997 season. Baker's version was used for the rest of the show's run, and it is on the show's soundtrack album. Gold's version is included on the collection. Thank You for Being a Friend: The Best of Andrew Gold is a collection of his most popular songs.
