Taken

For its initial airing in 2002 on the Sci-Fi Channel under the title "Steven Spielberg Presents Taken," Taken earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding Miniseries. Written by Leslie Bohem and directed by Breck Eisner, Félix Enrquez Alcalá, John Fawcett, Tobe Hooper, Jeremy Paul Kagan, Michael Katleman, Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, Bryan Spicer, Jeff Woolnough and Thomas J. Wright in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Leslie Bohem and Steven Spielberg served as executive producers. There are three families who make up this story: The Crawford family (who are trying to cover up the Roswell crash), the Key family (who are constantly being experimented on by the aliens), and the Clark family (who saved one of the aliens from being killed in the crash). Every episode of the series features a different cast and a different storyline. The series was well-received, and it won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series. The Sci-Fi Channel used the nonprofit Coalition for Freedom of Information as a promotional tool when the show debuted. PodestaMattoon, a public relations firm based in Washington, D.C., represents both the Sci-Fi Channel and the Coalition for Freedom of Information, and this seeming co-mingling of clients was questioned. The Coalition for Freedom of Information is a non-profit organization dedicated to gaining scientific, Congressional, and media credibility in the investigation of extraterrestrial life.
