The Hunger

The Hunger is a British/Canadian TV horror anthology series made by Scott Free Productions, Telescene Film Group Productions, and the Canadian pay-TV channel The Movie Network. Even though it has the same name as the movie The Hunger, the series has nothing to do with the movie in terms of plot or characters. It was created by Jeff Fazio. The series first aired in the UK on the Sci Fi Channel, in Canada on The Movie Network, and in the US on Showtime. It ran from 1997 to 2000 and is divided into two seasons. Each episode was based on a different story that was told by the host. Terence Stamp was the host for the first season, but David Bowie took over for the second. Stories were often about self-destructive desires and obsessions, and there was a lot of soft-core erotica in them. Cannibalism, vampires, sex, and poison were common tropes in these stories.
