The Outsider

An independent private investigator known as "The Outsider" was the focus of the film. As Ross, Darren McGavin's character was a man who lived in an ever-changing, perilous world. The Rockford Files had its origins in this one-season NBC sitcom about a lone private investigator who had served time in jail for a crime he didn't commit and couldn't seem to fit in anywhere.
