The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles

The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles is a popular television show that ran on ABC in the United States from March 4, 1992, all the way up until July 24, 1993. The scenes were shot everywhere across Wilmington, North Carolina, as well as on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington (UNCW). Produced by Amblin Entertainment/Lucasfilm in collaboration with Paramount Network Television, the show was a joint venture between the two companies. The series focuses on Sean Patrick Flanery and Corey Carrier as the title character, with George Hall playing an older version of Jones for the bookends of most episodes (although Harrison Ford bookended one episode). The series examines the childhood and youth of the fictional character Indiana Jones. George Lucas is responsible for the creation of the show as well as its executive production. Lucas was also responsible for the creation of the Indiana Jones movie franchise, as well as the co-writing and executive production of those films. The series was canceled in 1993 because of the tremendous cost of producing it. On the other hand, after the series was canceled, a total of four movies designed specifically for television were produced between the years 1994 and 1996 in an effort to prolong the series. The original series was recut and rebroadcast on television as 22 individual episodes in 1999 under the title The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones.
